Blueberry Sauce

2 pints blueberries
1 onion, thinly sliced
3 tbsp brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2tsp red wine vinegar
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/2tsp brown sugar
1 tbsp ginger root, finely chopped fresh
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2tsp coarsely ground pepper
1/4tsp kosher salt

Place all ingredients in a 2 quart saucepan. Cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally, until flavors are blended, about 12 to 15 minutes. Baste with the blueberry sauce. Serve sauce over ribs, and meat.
