Cookies Chocolate Chip (D/P, TNT)

1 cup margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2-1/4 cups flour (half Better for Bread, and half Whole Wheat)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups (12-ounce package) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Cream margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Beat well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly. Remove from cookie sheet; cool completely on wire rack. (I just let it cool.)

Variation: Milk chocolate chip cookies: Substitute 2 cups (11.5-ounce package) milk chocolate chips for the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
